About His Royal Highness
His Royal Majesty, Prof. Stephen Billy Olajide, ascended the revered throne of Olla as the Ololla in August 2017, becoming the 18th recorded monarch to lead the ancient Kingdom of Olla. His installation marked a significant milestone in Olla’s illustrious history, bringing together traditional leadership and academic excellence.
As an Associate Professor of English Education and Applied Linguistics at the University of Ilorin’s Faculty of Education, Professor Olajide brings a unique blend of scholarly wisdom and cultural heritage to the throne. His academic background in education and linguistics positions him uniquely to champion both the preservation of Olla’s rich Igbomina traditions and the advancement of modern development initiatives.
Since his installation in 2017, His Royal Majesty has been committed to upholding the proud traditions established by his forebears, dating back to Dada Arokoletiopon, the legendary founder of Olla. Under his leadership, Olla Kingdom continues to thrive as a land of prosperity, peace, and abundant productivity.
Professor Olajide’s reign represents the perfect harmony between traditional values and contemporary progress, as he guides Olla Kingdom into a promising future while maintaining the cultural identity that has defined the community for centuries.
Our Kings
From the time immemorial a king has been installed and enthroned to control the affair of Olla and her people. Right from that time till now Olla have been fortunate to have 18 great Kings on record to have reigned and governed her successfully. According to oral tradition, Olla community have four major ruling houses of Iketa, Odi(Odi), Ariko and Osigiri(Odo Omi) and the Oba rotates in that order. Following is the list of the Obas according to their tenure of office and their house hold in order. There is no recorded date for the first eight ancient kings.

OUR CLANS AND WARD HEADS
Each family/ward comprising Olla is headed by a ward head representing them at the palace. Olla is divided into 8 great wards with 8 high Chief heading/representing each ward at the Ololla in council. The followings are the wards and the names of the ward head: OWA headed by Chief Esa, OSIGIRI headed by Chief Odofin, ODI headed by Chief Olodi, IKETA headed by Chief Petu, ARIKO ODO-OMI headed by Chief Onijala, OKE-IGBO headed by Chief Elewura, ARIKO AGAMO headed by Chief Aare and OKE-ODI headed by Chief Ejemu.
Further investigation reveals that Olla has been an organized community with different families under an organized family and clan tree in each ward. A quick look into it reveal that the ODONISI,ISAWO and ODOMOKUN families are in OWA ward headed by Chief Esa, ODO AWORO,IWASA,OKE-ETA and ILLOGBO families are in OSIGIRI headed by Chief Odofin, ODO ARODO, ILLOBA and ILLOFA families are in ODI headed by Chief Olodi, ODODI, ILLEGE, ILARO and IJOKO families are in IKETA headed by Chief Petu, EYIGBO, OKOSE,ODOTA and EWERE families are in ARIKO ODO-OMI headed by Chief Onijala, EWURA, OKE-ABITI,OKE-ESA and OKE-ARE families are in OKE-IGBO headed by Chief Elewura, OKE-AGAMO, ILE LODO, OKE NOUN and ODOMBADU families are in ARIKO AGAMO headed by Chief Aare while OKE SEDO, OKE ODI and ODO ABATA families are in OKE-ODI headed by Chief Ejemu.
